Some of our Runners are asking us how to get more jobs, so we thought we would give you a few guidelines. First of, let’s remember that all the jobs are rated by the customers. The higher your rating the more likely you will get jobs, it’s as easy as that! So here are a few simple things that can help you get the best ratings possible.

1. Dress professionally
There is no such thing as undoing a first impression. And the way you look makes a huge impact.

2. Stay fresh
We understand some jobs can be exhausting, especially if you are riding a bike under high temperatures. But make sure to stay as fresh as possible at all times.

3. Be polite
Greeting the customer, smiling, it’s the little things which make a real difference.

4. Be attentive
Sometimes, going too quickly can lead you making mistakes. So take the time to read the parcel, check if the address is correct (clients make mistakes too!). It will save you some time in the long run.

5. Check the name of the recipient
Checking the address is an essential, as seen above, however don’t forget to ask for the name of the recipient if you can’t find it. Especially if you are delivering something at the hospital.

6. Update you estimated time of arrival (ETA)
Rain, traffic, a delivery that took longer than anticipated, they are many reasons why you could be running late. So don’t forget to update your ETA if you are behind schedule. By doing so you will avoid some panic and frantic calls from the client.

7. Finish jobs early
Our system is made so that you will not get new job notifications if you already have too many going on. So finish up as early as you can, so it knows that you are ready for more.

8. Proof of delivery (POD) at drop off
When you complete a job, don’t forget to get a POD at drop off. Signature is mandatory if a Recipient is present (don’t forget to enter the name of the person signing off the goods, especially if it’s not the actual Recipient, e.g.: ‘Bill, the concierge’). A photo is required if no one is home and you have the authorisation to leave it there and it’s safe to leave.

9. Don’t leave picking up/delivery to the last minute

To make sure to be on time, and even better, early, leave some time for the unexpected.

10. Do not contact clients privately
You may not, under any circumstances, contact clients privately. You can of course, call them up or send them a message to get precise information on a job. But anything besides that is off limits. You cannot, for example, contact a client directly for new jobs, it could lead them to blacklist you and you will never be able to get jobs from them again.

If you think we missed out something you can leave a comment and we might do an edit with it.
