You have our word – it turns out we really do value our mothers here in Australia and we should be proud of it. That’s right, Mother’s Day has just passed and Go People had a jam-packed weekend running almost 7000 deliveries – many of them between sons, daughters and happy mothers all around Australia.

Things really started to take off early here at Go People as we headed into the Mother’s Day weekend. Friday and Saturday saw our runners make an average of 2,000 deliveries on both days with Sunday clocking up over 3,000 deliveries – that’s 254 deliveries per hour, 4.2 deliveries per minute, or one delivery every 14 seconds!

Indeed, there’s no rest day here at Go People – we’re committed to making deliveries 7-days-per-week to cover any occasion, so it’s a good job we have a colossal team of nearly 17,000 runners to take care of it all, right?

And as the thousands of cards, flowers, pamper packages, and every other Mother’s Day gift idea were speeding their way through city and suburban streets around the country, Go People were getting excited to see some of the fantastic feedback pouring in from customers.

Here are just two of the many customer comments we received last Mother’s Day weekend:

“Just wanted to pass on some feedback … The drivers today were great and it was a very seamless process … Really, really impressed.”

Kaisser, Sydney

“Thanks again for your help with the runs and making it so easy for us, it’s muchly appreciated.”

Elli, Brisbane

But while all this was going on, Go People had a rather different Mother’s Day delivery idea of its own. We know it’s a very special day of the year and of course, it’s not all about material gifts.

Unfortunately, it’s not always possible for every Mother to spend quality time with their loved ones on Mother’s Day – in fact – according to a Go People survey, a quarter of people aged between 25 and 44 said they don’t visit their mother as often as they should. So, we decided to make it happen for one separated family.

Go People paid for Samantha Cook to travel with her baby Stella from Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales North Coast to Sydney to visit her mother and grandmother. Samantha couldn’t remember the last time she visited her mother on Mother’s Day and it was the first time all four generations of the family had celebrated Mother’s Day together. Samantha says the arrival of her baby gave her a renewed appreciation for the importance of the day and all the things her mother did for her during a complicated pregnancy.

Of course – we did throw in some flowers and a hamper too – because it wouldn’t be Mother’s Day without them!
