Q: How will working with Go People on Mother’s Day be different?
A: Mother’s Day (Sunday 13 May) will be very busy for Go People and Go People’s Senders. There will be lots of work available to Runners, but this also means that Runners have to perform at their very best.
Q: Will it just be busy on Mother’s Day weekend?
A: Yes! As Mother’s Day is on a Sunday, we expect that the Saturday 12 May and Friday 11 May before it will be super busy as well. So, all changes to our service for Mother’s Day, will also be extended to those days as well.
Q: What changes will there be?
A: There will be higher rates for Mother’s Day, which means that Runners will be paid more than usual for working on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Also, most of the work will be Dedicated Runner work. Booking jobs GoSAMEDAY deliveries has been disabled for the weekend. That means that Runners who have experience doing Dedicated Runner work (and who have received good ratings) will be first choice to work over the Mother’s Day weekend.
What are these new rates (before cut)?
A: In NSW, VIC & QLD (Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th)
Cars – $32 per hour (inc. GST)
Vans – $43 per hour (inc. GST)
In WA & SA (Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th)
Cars – $28 per hour (inc. GST)
Vans – $34.85 per hour (inc. GST)
How many hours work will there be?
A: We imagine that there’ll be up to 18 hours of work available over the 3 days.
Q: Who can apply?
A: Anyone who has completed the 6-steps Onboarding process or has already done deliveries with us.
If a Shift is assigned to a new Runner, we will make sure to call them to make sure they understand how thing works. If that isn’t the case, we’ll reassign the Shift to someone else.
Q: Any requirements?
A: As usual, make sure you bring a charging cable for your phone, some crates or buckets to handle the flowers (if that’s what you are delivering).
Wear a plain top, long trousers and closed SHOES. Make sure you car is clean (inside & out) and lastly bring your best can do attitude!
Q: How many deliveries will need to be done?
A: All the ones that have been allocated to you – no exceptions. The Sender is relying on you to complete all deliveries assigned to you, and you must do them to the best of your ability.
Around 20 deliveries are scheduled for a 3-hour Shift. The number of deliveries depends on the Estimated Working Time (EWT), which is an algorithm created by Go People to calculate the fastest route for all the jobs.
Q: How many pick-ups and drop-offs will there be?
A: For Shift Runners, there’ll usually only be one pick-up and many drop-offs locations. The amount of drop-offs depends on the orders Senders give us. If there’s more than one pick-up location (that’s rare), there will be more time added to the EWT.
Q: How does Go People calculate EWT?
A: It is a sum of the below factors:
- Travelling time (from pick-up to drop-off)
- Estimated total pick-up time
- Estimated total drop-off time
- Job difficulty buffer (such Hospital jobs, CBD jobs etc.)
- Any other traffic or natural conditions (e.g. flooding of roads)
Q: How many Shifts can I get?
A: You can get 1 Shift in the morning and 1 Shift in the afternoon.
Q: What happens if my Shift is for 3 hours, but the EWT is more than 3 hours?
A: Don’t worry. You will be paid based on the hourly rate of the assigned Shift. e.g. If the EWT is 3 hours 15 minutes, the Runner will be paid for the extra 15 minutes.
Please keep in mind that when applying for a Shift, expect to work (paid) overtime. So don’t book a doctor’s appointment right after work!
Q: What happens if my Shift is for 3 hours, but the EWT is less than 3 hours?
A: You’ll be paid for the full Shift.
Q: What happens if I take longer to complete my deliveries than the EWT says I should?
A: You’ll only get paid for the Shift or EWT (whichever is more). You must do your best to complete your deliveries on time.
We do understand that sometimes things go wrong (e.g. car crash or breakdown), or that there are some things that need explaining. Please, try not to waste time. If you have any issues, contact the Sender or the Recipient or call Go People on 1300 416 722. You can also leave a message in the job’s comments if you are unable to reach anyone.
Q: What happens if the Sender cancels the Shift?
A: There will be a cancellation fee of 60% of the Shift price if the Shift is cancelled within 2 hours of the Shift start. If the Shift is cancelled between 2 and 24 hours a cancellation fee of 30% of the Shift fee will apply.
Q: What happens if I cancel my Shift?
A: You’ll be charged 60%, as well, if you cancel a Shift that you’ve been assigned within 2 hours of the start of the Shift. You’ll be charged 30%, if you cancel a Shift between 2 and 24 hours before the start of the Shift.
Q: Can Runners make their own route?
A: There’s no need; our system figures out the best routing for you! And we highly recommend you follow our Routing System if you want to finish all your jobs on time and keep your good rating. Also, if you claim the Estimated Working Time (EWT) wasn’t accurate, we can only investigate if you follow our Routing.
On the other hand, if you think you’re smarter than our smart algorithm, please send us an email so we can arrange to get your brain scanned and experimented upon.
Q: What if a delivery needs to be Returned or Redelivered?
A: We do not offer redelivery on Mother’s Day weekend, if the Sender or Recipient are being persistent about it please ask them (politely) to contact Go People. If you cannot deliver something and it needs to be returned, you can request a Return in the Comment section of the job. It will then be approved by the Go People Admin or the Sender. You have until the next day noon to return the goods to the Sender.
